Planishing Stakes
Planishing occurs after completion of the forming stage. Choose the stakes below that conform most
closely to the desired shape of the finished work. Using a lightweight hammer and starting at the middle
strike the piece with a steady pattern and work towards the edge. Each of these stakes has a highly
polished, specially shaped working surface.
